Q&A with Arlington Committee of 100 member Tamon Honda

Why Arlington? What brought you to Arlington and what do you enjoy about it?

I was raised here. I attended Syphax, Drew ES, Barrett ES, Ashlawn ES, Kenmore MS, and Washington-Lee HS. I lived in Chicago for 10 years and returned for family reasons.

How did you first learn about the Arlington Committee of 100?

I helped set up for the presentation regarding bringing Major League Baseball to Arlington.

What Committee of 100 Program did you find particularly enjoyable and why?

The event with Justice John Paul Stevens was great! The recent Arlington County Police Department program was also excellent. I always enjoy the hot-button issues: streetcar, water park, etc.

Tell us a little about your professional experience, or an issue or cause that you're passionate about.

I'll dwell on my more unique experiences: I've worked as a manufacturing/QC engineer mostly with electrical connectors and automotive applications. I now work at the FAA providing business justifications for NextGen.

What do you like to do on your spare time?

What's "spare time"?

Just kidding. I'm a big sports fan and enthusiast. Besides doing and watching sports, I'm doing research on sports coaches - but nothing yet ready for publication.
